Bureau of Land Management 10 Year Plan

desert environment

Burning Man has entered into an agreement with the Bureau of Land Management to create an environmental impact statement that could lead to permitting Burning Man on federal land for the next ten years.

One of the most important aspects of this study is a projection of what the impact of the event would be in ten years if growth was allowed to continue over that same period.

Initial projections are that over that time period, if no limitations are created, is that there could eventually be up to 100,000 attendees.

This work is projected to take up to 18 months.

Anyone interested in being involved in the public input aspect of this study can send comments to blm_nv_burningmaneis@blm.gov.
