Bifilament Tape-What Makes It So Strong
There are two separate components to bifilament tape (also known as bi-directional filament tape) that give it its strength.
The first is the adhesive. This tape uses an extremely aggressive adhesive make of synthetic rubber rubber. It’s adhesion factor of 90 oz/inch is much “stickier” than most tapes and it is difficult to remove once it is affixed to a non-porous surface.
The second is the fiberglass filaments that run in both directions, at right angles, within the tape. This makes the tape almost impossible to tear and limits its elongation (stretching) to only 6{dfacd82af96baef04c89176bd0b4426c4bfd9768ce570d699716ce87e54c8731} beyond its normal length or width.
